Hello PURE grip nation,

As you may have noticed, I get pretty excited about finding awesome new golf products and brands. You may have also noticed that we have been giving away some beautiful Kikkor Golf Shoes on our site, but I have not really said much to introduce the Kikkor product formally. So, here is an overview of our findings from research with some Kikkor products.

First, I should say that I definitely have a thing for shoes. I am not the guy who collects dozens of pairs of shoes, but I have felt a great deal of passion for the same Black & White Vans Old Schools for about the last 15 years. These classic skate shoes serve me well in all kinds of settings, I wear them for business, to the pool, the beach, you name it. But, I definitely do not play golf in them…

So, it has always been difficult for me to find golf shoes that fit my taste, something far from the traditional wingtip/saddle shoe design that has been so prevalent in golf shoes for years. I have been pleased to see the emerging trend in golf shoes that leans toward more athletic styling, and more comfort! I have tried a lot of them, the new AdiPure line, True Linkswear and FJ Street to name a few. But,I have been most pleased with some of the Kikkor models I have been able to try.

My first pair was the Tenny Classic from Kikkor. The styling of this shoe really works for me, and it looks great with my Travis Matthew gear. Best of all, I found this to be the most comfortable golf shoe I had ever tried. Fashion and function? Who would have thought??? The beauty of these shoes is continued in the soles. They have a pre-molded spike that is easy to walk on, even on carpet, but functional on the course so I did not see any problems with slipping.

I also tried the Dress Sneaker in the first model year, but it was at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January that I saw some of the new lineup, and I could not wait to try some! My friend at Kikkor, James Lepp, was king enough to send some samples our way and we have been field testing for about the last month. If you have not gotten familiar with Kikkor, or with the story of their Founder James Lepp, you should do some research. It appears that James was one hell of an amateur golfer and has the game to play at the highest levels, but he chooses to make Kikkors for all of us instead! Here is a great video that introduces their brand. http://www.kikkor.com/The-Brand/The-Brand-Video

So, the new models arrived and we are testing, and it is safe to say that Kikkor has only added to quality of their first models, great looking styles and even more comfortable. I love the addition of the Pure model, obviously, it is a nice new-age rendition of a more traditional look, and super comfy. I also love the additions of the Tour Athlete and the Tour Class, some great colors and looks in a more athletic/casual style. Those are going to feel great on my Sunday morning Men's Club days!

These shoes have been awesome, from start to finish, each model has performed better than the last. We are really excited to be partnered with a great and innovative brand, with a fresh take on golf. The team at Kikkor are putting out a great product, at a very fair price, and they are genuinely good people. Make sure to take a minute and check out James' skills with his saucer shot at http://www.kikkor.com/The-Brand/Day-at-the-Office, I think they were a finalist on Golf Channel's best videos of the year for this one. Amazing! Thanks for the awesome kicks James! Stay tuned for more chances to win some for yourself!
